Now that we’ve been living with Covid for more of the year than not, I’ve got my takeout game down pretty well now, just in time for the next round of DineLA. (I used to almost never get takeout pre-Covid. I’m more of a cook at home or dine-in type).
I’ve narrowed down my top 4 picks based on which restaurants are offering takeout.
Mayura Indian Restaurant – Culver City
Why? I want to try a neighborhood restaurant I haven’t been to before. And Jonathan Gold liked this place.
What to order: fish curry, butter chicken, rasmali
Price: $35 lunch / $45 dinner 5 items total
Kazunori – Santa Monica (mult. locations available)
Why? To fix my never-ending sushi craving
What to order: the all-day menu which includes salmon sashimi and assortment of cut rolls
Price: $20
Tesse – WeHo
Why? Feels the closest to the original multi-course DineLA experience
What to order: Pre fixe menu highlights: hamachi crudo, bone marrow and flourless chocolate cake
Price: $45 and an additional $45 if you want a wine pairing
Broad Street Oyster Co. – Malibu
Why? I miss eating seafood by the beach
What to order: lobster rolls, oysters, chowder
Price: $30 for lunch / $35 for dinner
Are you doing Dine LA this year? What are your picks?
