Alder & Sage

I spent all last weekend going to brunch. Why? Because when girls want to catch up, we get brunch. Maybe it’s basic, but it’s just what happens. I am also always up for getting eggs.

One spot I went to was in the Bluff Heights neighborhood of Long Beach, Alder & Sage.

What We Ordered

  • Turkish Eggs – soft poached eggs topped with Aleppo oil, ghee, and dill sitting on top of a garlic beet yogurt. I would order it again. It was creamy, had some heat, and was nicely spreadable on top of the sourdough.
  • Spiced Apple French Toast – warm cubes of apple on top of french toast that is spread with creme fraiche. Yes to this.
  • House Maple Habanero Sausage Patties – our server recommended this to us. I could take it or leave it. They were slightly sweet sausage patties, not my favorite.
  • Drinks – you can order a hot pot of traditional or herbal tea (that’s what my friend did). I went with a chai latte.
